ALL THE MUSCLES OF TONGUE ARE SUPPLIED BY HYPOGLOSSAL NERVE (CN 12) EXCEPT PALATOGLOSSUS WHICH IS SUPPLIED BY CRANIAL ACCESSORY NERVE (CN 11) THROUGH VAGUS NERVE (CN 10).
CRANIAL ACCESSORY NERVE ( THROUGH VAGUS NERVE ) SUPPLIES ALL THE MUSCLES OF PHARYNX AND SOFT PALATE EXCEPT STYLOPHARYNGEUS (MUSCLE OF PHARYNX) AND TENSOR PALATI (MUSCLE OF SOFT PALATE).
STYLOPHARYNGEUS IS SUPPLIED BY GLOSSOPHARYNGEAL NERVE (CN 9) AND TENSOR PALATI IS SUPPLIED BY MANDIBULAR NERVE (V3 OF CN 5).
MANDIBULAR NERVE SUPPLIES ALL THE MUSCLES OF MASTICATION EXCEPT BUCCINATOR WHICH IS SUPPLIED BY FACIAL NERVE (CN 7).
FACIAL NERVE SUPPLIES ALL THE MUSCLES OF FACIAL EXPRESSION EXCEPT LEVATOR PALPEBRAE SUPERIORIS WHICH IS SUPPLIED BY OCULOMOTOR NERVE (CN 3).
OCULOMOTOR NERVE SUPPLIES ALL THE MUSCLES OF EYEBALL EXCEPT SUPERIOR OBLIQUE (WHICH IS SUPPLIED BY TROCHLEAR NERVE – CN 4) AND LATERAL RECTUS MUSCLE ( WHICH IS SUPPLIED BY ABDUCENT NERVE – CN 6).
